Erol Bulut claims he has no idea what happened to his Cardiff City team following their 1-1 draw with Watford and believes his players “totally changed” after taking the lead in the first half.
The Bluebirds took the lead on a Mark McGuinness volley from a corner, but they sat back and welcomed pressure, and the Hornets could have won the game. Vakoun Bayo had several chances, but Tom Ince squandered a fantastic opportunity to seal the three points.
Cardiff were fortunate to come away with one point in the end. That is a school of thought shared by Bulut, who stated that his squad was “lucky” not to lose at Cardiff City Stadium.
We saw the 95-minute mark, and the first 35 minutes were exactly what we expected and how we intended to play. But I’m not sure what happened after we scored. My team had completely transformed. “I’m not sure why,” the manager explained.
Too nervous, too pressured, and far too many individual errors. Individual errors provided opportunities for the opponent to score. They could have added two more goals. Finally, we must be content with one point today.”
