‘It is unacceptable for a team like Inter not to win after being 2-0 up,’ Inter Milan coach says.

Simone Inzaghi admits that there are no excuses for Inter Milan not to win this afternoon’s match against Bologna.

Speaking to InterTV after the game, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri coach bemoaned his team’s failure to secure all three points in a match in which they had seized an early 2-0 lead.

Inter appeared to be in complete control after scoring their second goal against Bologna.

The Nerazzurri were already 2-0 up after only fifteen minutes.

However, it was a penalty that allowed Bologna to get back into the game. Inter captain Lautaro Martinez’s reckless challenge inside the area on Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson undone the Argentine’s great chance to make it 2-0.

Inter showed signs of complacency later. And a goal from Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee completed the Emilian team’s comeback.

After surrendering a two-goal lead, Inter still had the better part of a half of football to reclaim their lead.

However, despite several improvements from Inzaghi, they were unable to do so.

Inter will now have to reflect on how they managed to drop points for the second time this season in a match where they appeared to be cruising.
