Gary Lineker and Rio Ferdinand react to Tottenham’s victory over Luton Town.

Tottenham Hotspur have risen to the top of the Premier League table following their victory in Saturday’s early kickoff.

Spurs won 1-0 against Luton Town thanks to a second-half goal from Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham won despite Yves Bissouma receiving a second yellow card in first-half injury time.

As a result, Ange Postecoglou’s troops have surpassed Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the table.

Gary Lineker, a former Spurs player, responded with a seven-word statement on X.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand, another England star, delivered his assessment on TNT Sports, as transcribed by BBC Sport.

“A huge result for that Spurs dressing room,” Ferdinand remarked.

“There was previously a softness; a weak underbelly.”

“If they had come here last year and gone down to ten men, they would have lost that game.”

“Ange Postecoglou has instilled confidence, belief, and steel in this team.”

“They have shown that they can grind out results today.”

If Arsenal and Manchester City draw on Sunday, Tottenham will remain top of the Premier League table heading into the international break.
