Tottenham is playing with fire as a potential £26 million transfer might sabotage Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

If Tottenham allows Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to leave, they run the risk of leaving Ange Postecoglou short in January. Juventus has shown a great interest in the midfielder. Under Postecoglou, Spurs have had a barnstorming start to the season, fans encourage the team is taking.

They moved up to second place in the standings and are now only one point behind Manchester City after stealing all three points from Liverpool in thrilling game at the weekend. Even though there is still long way to go and only seven games have been played, there are already indications that Tottenham will compete to return to the Champions League.

After completely missing out on playing in Europe this season, it would have been Tottenham’s major goal at the start of the season. The ultimate goal is to play in the Champions League, and the Premier League top four starts to take shape in January.

By January, Tottenham will still want to be a contender, especially though they will lose two of their great midfielders to the Africa Cup of Nations. This season, Postecoglou has favored the African combo of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr to play alongside James Maddison because to their early-season success.
