GREAT CATCH: Liverpool in talks with most valuable star player with……….

Although Fabrizio Romano recently said rumors of a pre-agreement were untrue, Liverpool has been closely linked to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. According to a recent Calciomercato report,Liverpool is in “direct” contact with Osimhen’s representation.

His future with the Serie A champions is uncertain right now, but if he decides he wants a new challenge, it appears the Reds are making the greatest progress in trying to persuade him.

Given that Osimhen has been one of the most impressive attacking players in international football over the past 12 months—Jose Mourinho has even likened him to Didier Drogba—the thought of him wearing a Liverpool shirt is tantalizing.

With 26 league goals on his way to victory and five goals in the Champions League, Osimhen’s stats stand out. At 24, he was perhaps the main factor in Napoli’s first-ever Serie A championship in 1990. Folarin Balogun has also praised him as a “world-class” player.

Given his speed, strength, and frequent goal threat, the Napoli hero would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool, but it is probably unlikely that they will make a bid for him given the abundance of offensive alternatives Klopp already has at his disposal.

Darwin Nunez cost the Reds a lot of money, and they believe he will only improve and eventually lead the line frequently. Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota are other excellent choices, while out wide, Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz are also excellent options.

Osimhen would probably cost a lot of money, thus it would make more sense for Liverpool to spend that money on strengthening their defensive alternatives, signing a defensive midfield player, or perhaps eye up a big-name long-term replacement for Salah.
