A £70 million player has just informed Liverpool that he wishes to join them; only the transfer amount has to be determined.

Liverpool and Victor Osimhen have reached a deal for a 2024 transfer.

The Reds were apparently keeping tabs on Osimhen throughout the recent international break. The tale has since developed, with suggestions that talks with the Napoli strikers’ representation have already begun.

Liverpool have achieved a breakthrough in those discussions, according to Naples-based journalist Valter De Maggio.

In reality, speaking to Televomero via Arena Napoli, De Maggio claimed that Osimhen and the Reds have reached an agreement. According to the journalist, the Nigerian’s contract talks with Napoli had broken down because of Liverpool.

“Can you tell me what happened?” Another club from the Premier League was added. “I’m referring to Liverpool,” he says.

“There would be frequent contacts, but I’ve just learned something else: agreements would already be in place.” To be clear, the agreements would be between the Reds and the player, with no involvement from Napoli.

“I hope that the president of the Azzurri, Aurelio De Laurentiis, will be able to keep Victor Osimhen at least until June, but we can’t be sure.”

Let’s be clear: Victor Osimhen is a superb player who would most likely thrive at Liverpool.

However, the Reds do not require at this time.

It may be churlish to dismiss a player who cost Napoli £70 million and has already scored 65 goals in 111 games. But that is the case.
