News Update: Rangers head coach shared why Abdallah Sima is still Rangers difference maker on rare off night….

When Abdallah Sima missed a relatively straight forward chance in the opening minutes of Rangers win over Dundee, it looked as though he was going to be the main man once again.

The Senegal international has enjoyed a great start to his Light Blues career and spoke recently about his decision to come to Glasgow, even if there have been plenty of other players around him who have been struggling.

What we saw at Dens Park though was another side to Abdallah Sima and one that, even on an off night, proves that Rangers are right to be considering asking Brighton how much they want for him.

It’s easy to forget that Sima is still only 22-years old.

He’s been around for a few years now but still has a rawness to his game that can be attributed to him still progressing as a player.

Only the very best are the finished article at such a young age but nine goals so far in his Rangers career is an impressive start.

After just a couple of minutes when SIma turned his marker and played Ridvan Yilmaz down the line, his searing pace got him into the box to receive the cut back only to not get a clean connection and see his effort go wide.

That phase of play is something that we could see more often if Philippe Clement persists with the same line up.

A couple of efforts that were flashed over the bar needed more composure and a focus on technique but it was his part in Danilo’s goal that was most encouraging.

Coming off the wing, Abdallah Sima received the ball just outside the box and in a good shooting position with a chance to put Rangers 2-0 up.
