News Report: Legendary Rangers striker texts in support for Cyriel Dessers….

Legendary Rangers striker Colin Stein texted RangersTV commentator Tom Miller to pledge his support after Cyriel Dessers scored against Dundee.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the match was the fact that much-criticised pair Sam Lammers and Cyriel Dessers both wound up on the scoresheet.

As Tom Miller and RangersTV covered the match (01/11/23), the commentator revealed that Colin Stein, 76, text him to pledge his support to Cyriel Dessers.

Tom Miller explained that the legendary former Rangers striker – who scored in the club’s 3-2 Cup Winners’ Cup Final win in Barcelona – believes the goal will do Dessers’ “confidence” the world of good.

The message comes just a day after the 45th anniversary of Colin Stein signing for Rangers, the legendary Ibrox hitman joining from Hibs for a then Scottish record fee of £100k on October 31st 1968.

The striker would then spend seven years at Ibrox between two spells at the club.

Rangers romp Dundee as Colin Stein texts support for Cyriel Dessers

Alongside Colin Stein, Rangers fans will be delighted for Cyriel Dessers whose performance in the 2-1 victory over Hearts at the weekend stank out the stadium.

Hooked at halftime, the struggling striker was benched for the win over Dundee with Brazilian counterpart Danilo once again grabbing the headlines.

Ryan Jack gave Rangers a first half lead on the night after the match was paused due to the use of pyrotechnics with the 1-0 score line flattering Dundee at the break.

Rangers would however come out and score four in a blistering second half display with Danilo scoring his second goal in as many games, Sam Lammers netting a stunner and Cyriel Dessers getting on the scoresheet v Dundee.

Rangers captain James Tavernier rounded off the scoring with a penalty in the 5-0 victory and some momentum is building at Ibrox.

As for Cyriel Dessers, he’ll be glad to know he’s got Colin Stein in his corner after the striker got in touch with Tom Miller and Ian Ferguson on commentary duties for RangersTV.
