Done Deal:Key winger asks Rangers to deal him in for Philippe Clement ride and wants teammate along with him

Ryan Jack says he wants to stay at Ibrox and be part of Philippe Clement’s Rangers revolution.

The Scotland midfielder only signed a one-year deal in the summer when Michael Beale was in charge – so can talk to potential suitors in January. But Jack is adamant he wants to be at Gers for as long as possible, especially after new gaffer Clement’s positive impact. The Belgian boss is unbeaten so far and last week led the club to a League Cup Final and terrific Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.

Jack is now a regular starter in Clement’s engine room and – despite his contract being up next summer – he wants to continue as a Rangers player. When asked about his future, the 31-year-old said: “I want to be at the top for as long as possible. There will probably be a chat (between him and the club). Maybe after Christmas and New year, we’ll see where we’re at.

I’ll see what the club’s vision is for next season and the season after that. We’ll take it from there. I’m quite relaxed about it because I was in the same position a year ago. I love playing for this club and I want to stay at the top for as long as I possibly can.

In recent weeks under Clement, Jack has been reunited with his midfield partner John Lundstram – who will also be a free agent next summer. he Scouser, who was brought to Ibrox by ex-boss Steven Gerrard in 2021, was a key player alongside Jack when the club reached the 2022 Europa League Final and won the Scottish Cup.

Both players’ futures are uncertain but right now they’re excelling under Clement. And Jack admits he’d love to see Lundstram extend his stay at Rangers as well.

He said: “Since John came in, I’ve got on really well with him – he’s a top guy. This season, he’s had his ups and downs, like all of us

“But since the new manager has come in, stride by stride, his performances have been better. He’s a big leader in the changing room and a big part of the squad.

“John loves playing here so I’m sure at some point the club will talk to him too. But at the moment we just need to focus on winning games. When the club wants to sit down with us, it will happen.”
