Two players-min injury fears and triple Tottenham boost for Ange Postecoglou

Cristian Romero came off with an injury in Argentina’s win over Peru in the early hours of Wednesday morning

The countdown to Tottenham’s return to Premier League play has begun, with the completion of the season’s second international break. The international break came to a close on Tuesday evening, as a number of players traveled around the world to represent their respective countries.

As usual, Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham Hotspur coaching staff took a variety of positives and negatives from the games. Here are some of the most important Tottenham talking points from the most recent round of international fixtures.

Until Tuesday, Postecoglou’s international career appeared to be going swimmingly. Son Heung-min, who was an unused replacement in South Korea’s 4-0 friendly triumph over Tunisia last Friday, has returned to Jurgen Klinsmann’s starting lineup for their encounter against Vietnam.

Son earned a goal and an assist in his 90 minutes on the pitch to help the Taegeuk Warriors to a 6-0 victory. However, there was a fright for all Tottenham fans when the 31-year-old was seen limping down the tunnel at halftime and also showing symptoms of discomfort during the final stages.
