Sad News: Most valuable player may have played final game as injury curse strikes again…….

Despite the injury problem that has gripped Rangers at Ibrox, the attacking department now possesses a wealth of quality.

This season, Rabbi Matondo, Kieran Dowell, Tom Lawrence, Todd Cantwell, Danilo, and Kemar Roofe have all been out at various stages, so Philippe Clement had the biggest riddle to figure out when he arrived.

Players are slowly but surely getting back into shape these days, but Roofe, a Jamaican international, is one player who is currently out.

Roofe has struggled with injury problems throughout his time here at Ibrox, but got himself back into the team surprisingly under Michael Beale earlier this season despite the arrivals of Danilo, Cyriel Dessers, Abdallah Sima and Sam Lammers in the summer.

He had some decent performances but struggled to find the back of the net consistently before suffering another injury, with Clement revealing that he had been dealing with an issue for a while.

While all the attackers were struggling for form under Beale, since Clement has come in there has been a rejuvenation and everyone is scoring goals now. The Belgian has also reverted to a one-striker system, meaning far more competition for places.

Given that the manager has made no secret of his fondness for Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland and has not provided a timescale for Roofe’s return to fitness, it is probable that the 30-year-old may be kept out of the picture.

We might have seen the last of Roofe in a Rangers shirt because there are three players ahead of him in the standings who are all finding their form in addition to his health problems.
