When was the last time you visited your high school? It’s been almost twenty years since I stepped foot on the campus of Arcadia High School in Phoenix, and I think if I did so today, I would feel the nostalgia that comes with “once upon a time.” Teachers, friends, memories of the past; a life lived long ago.

The daily routine does not leave us much time to remember the past. As Phoenix Suns fans, next week will give us many of those nostalgic moments from last year. One is a Hall of Fame point guard and the other asked us the question: “What if he had been healthy in the Finals?”Chris Paul, who last played in Phoenix on November 22 and was cut by Scott Foster, changed the trajectory of the franchise when he decided to move here in 2020. No one had tried to go to Phoenix before. No one wanted to participate in the dysfunction that Robert Sarver was responsible for. But after the Orlando bubble, Chris Paul realized who and what Devin Booker was talking about. And he wanted to play with him. So he went to Phoenix by force. Another player on Golden State’s roster is Dario Saric, who was injured in Game 1 of the 2021 NBA Finals. We all know that Giannis went nuclear, but we will always wonder whether Dario’s presence caused the explosion or not. tempered. He had his own injury history in Phoenix due to his ACL, but he always gave his all. He has always played with difficulty. He always cared. And that’s why we care about him. On Wednesday, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson return to Phoenix for the first time since being traded to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant. The beloved duo, who wowed fans with their laid-back nature and banter, are missed dearly. It’s been so long since we’ve heard of Chipotle or lemonade stands. Unfortunately we have only been without them for 306 days. They were good enough to trade for Kevin Durant. He deserves it. A key member of the Seven Seconds or Less era, this engine could not perform as it did without what he selflessly gave to the team. Enjoy this week. Enjoy the memories. Pull out your yearbook, reminisce about your old friends, and get ready for a nostalgic week here in Phoenix.
