Members of Manchester United’s first team joined Erik ten Hag as they added their own condolences to a memorial book created in honor of Sir Bobby Charlton.
After a battle with dementia, the legendary player for Manchester United and England sadly passed away on Saturday at the age of 86.
Due to his iconic reputation in English football, condolences poured in over the weekend. In addition, United has been talking with UEFA and Charlton’s family about commemorative preparations before Tuesday’s Champions League match at Old Trafford against FC Copenhagen.
Following their Premier League victory over Sheffield United the night before, United opened their book of condolences to the public on Sunday, and hundreds of fans descended on the stadium to pay their respects.
At their Carrington training facility, Ten Hag and his players have already left tributes for the club icon, which will later this week be put to a book of condolences.
