Liverpool remain keen on signing Khephren Thuram
According to Sport Mediaset, Liverpool are still interested in signing OGC Nice player Khephren Thuram in the forthcoming transfer window.
Following a disastrous campaign last season, the Merseyside club decided to rebuild their engine room this summer in order to compete on all fronts. After releasing Naby Keita, Alex Olexlade-Chamberlain, James Milner, Jordan Henderson, and Fabinho, they signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.
Despite the fact that the Reds have signed four new midfielders, they have been connected with a number of other options, including Thuram.
According to Sport Mediaset, although the Merseyside club did not make an official offer to recruit Thuram last time around, they are still interested in his services and may formalize their interest next year.
However, the source indicates that signing the 22-year-old will be difficult for Liverpool because Juventus is also interested in him.
Nice reportedly demanded at least £34 million to allow their best player leave this summer. However, they may be obliged to sell Thuram for a lower price at the end of the season if he does not sign an extension, as he will reach the final year of his current contract with the French club next summer. If Liverpool formalizes their interest, they may be able to capture his signing in a low-cost deal.
Thuram is a dynamic, technically sound player who can thread passes between the lines, dribble past opposing players in tight spaces, work hard without possession, and contribute defensively.
So, the Frenchman, who stands roughly 6ft 3in tall, possesses the necessary attributes to play in Klopp’s system, and he would be a tremendous coup for Liverpool if he could be lured to Anfield next year.
