JUST IN!!!!—Liverpool line-ups vs Everton as decisions on Ryan Gravenberch and Darwin Nunez are made

Jurgen Klopp announced Andy Robertson will need surgery, but his South American foursome returned safely from international duty.

Liverpool welcomed back their South American quartet after international service, but it was Scotland’s Andy Robertson who returned from the break with a shoulder injury.

In his pre-Merseyside derby press conference on Friday, Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Robertson will undergo surgery and will be out for an extended period of time.

Kostas Tsimikas is the apparent solution to the Robertson issue, assuring the Greek defender a run of first-team starts. In defense, Joel Matip is a strong contender to keep his starting spot alongside Virgil van Dijk now that he is no longer subjected to the pressures of international football.

Calum Scanlon was alongside his first more seasoned colleagues at the AXA Centre on Thursday and might earn his professional debut – even if he comes off the bench – after catching the eye with his performances during a promising pre-season.
