After rebuilding his aging team over the summer, Jurgen Klopp acknowledged he now feels a renewed feeling of purpose at Liverpool.

Major holes in Liverpool’s midfield caused by the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were filled with the nearly £150 million acquisitions of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.

There is a distinct look about the Reds these days, and Klopp is relishing every moment of it. Roberto Firmino was also lost towards the conclusion of a 12-month period that saw Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo join to revive Liverpool’s assault. In reference to the rebuild, Klopp noted, “It was the job we had to do.” “I spent seven years at [Borussia] Dortmund, and when I left, it was time for a change. We would have needed to swap out the management or players for alternative responsibilities. Dortmund ultimately accomplished both. After I left, they underwent significant change. Therefore, this summer was the time for that.
