Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has signed a new long-term contract at the club.
The forward, recalled to the England squad this week, is believed to have penned a five-year deal and has scored 50 goals for Villa since joining from Brentford in 2020.
He scored 15 goals last season, assisting Villa in their bid to return to Europe, and had been in negotiations for a new contract for about six months.
He is constantly highly demanding to learn and get better, according to boss Unai Emery. He’s doing that right now. He and I have been working together for about a year, and our training method is still the same as it was back then.
Prior to Sunday’s trip to Wolves, Watkins has scored seven goals this season, including two hat-tricks.
Additionally, he thinks Villa Park is the ideal location for him to progress his career as he pursues the Champions League under Emery.
He told the club’s official website, “I’m incredibly thrilled.
“I think that this is the ideal location for me to play football. I still have a lot to accomplish here.
“I want to contribute to the club’s direction, which is clear to me.
“We’ve only just begun. You’ve observed the players’ development and form since the boss has been here for a year.
There are further layers that we can access. The goal is to keep playing and advance to the Champions League positions.
