Tottenham are ‘keeping tabs‘ on former Celtic star Jota according to Football Insider.
The report claims that Ange Postecoglou remains a ‘huge fan’ of the attacker.
However, it claims that a loan deal will be the only viable option for Spurs due to his extremely high wages at Al-Hilal.
He currently earns £200,000-a-week in Saudi Arabia following his £25million summer move in the summer.
But his move to Saudi Arabia has turned challenging due to the club signing numerous foreign players, exceeding the Saudi Pro League quota. As a result, Jota has been left out.
Jota has previously worked closely with Postecoglou during their time in Scotland scoring 28 goals and assisted 26 in 83 appearances under him.
With Son expected to miss up to 6 weeks of action due to the AFC Asian Cup January, Jota could turn out to be a brilliant signing for Spurs, specially given his previous connection with the Tottenham manager.
Son has been brilliant for Spurs spearheading the attack upfront scoring 8 goals and assisting 1 in 10 games.
His absence would be a huge blow for Spurs who so far look like genuine title contenders. They are currently one point behind Manchester City but with a game in hand. Which means a win against Chelsea will take them back to the top, 2 points ahead of Pep Guardiola’City.
