Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could still leave the club to move to the Saudi Pro League, according to a new report.
Salah was heavily linked with a move to Al Ittihad throughout the summer transfer window, with Saudi Pro League officials reportedly keen to attract a player of his calibre to the division.
They launched a verbal bid of £150 million on the day prior to the transfer deadline, but this was turned down by Liverpool chiefs.
It was reported by The Athletic that the league was considering a further bid of over £200 million, but this ultimately did not come to fruition.
According to the Daily Mirror, officials accepted that there was a ever-decreasing timeframe in which to get the deal done to sign Salah, and would reassess the situation in January.
Part of that assessment was believed to surround whether Liverpool would be challenging for the Premier League title by the time the window re-opens. They are currently just one point behind league leaders Manchester City after 12 games.
Now, according to The Telegraph, Salah could move on in the summer instead.
But it is claimed that the Reds will rebuff any offers for the Egyptian in January as the Reds fight on multiple fronts – and suggested that he could potentially be sold in the summer.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said little surrounding the speculation, although did comment prior to the Saudi Pro League had its first verbal bid rejected for Salah in August: “Yes [there isn’t anything to talk about].
