Rangers have six players that could leave on a free in 2024 – including some top-tier names.
The Rangers squad under Philippe Clement has been excellent in recent weeks. The Belgian manager seems to have really found his rhythm at Ibrox, having been in the job for over a month now.
However, there are still a lot of issues to iron out. The 49-year-old has had little time to fine-tune some issues surrounding the club – which will have to be addressed soon,
One of these is the six Rangers players whose contracts are set to expire in 2024. He’ll need to decide very soon if he wants to keep some of these names in Glasgow. All sourced from TrasnferMarkt.
John Lundstram is the first player set to be leaving for nothing next summer.
Rangers announced the signing of Lundstram on a three-year deal after his contract expired at Sheffield United in 2021. The then 27-year-old became Steven Gerrard‘s third signing of the summer.
Now at 29, he’s a key figure for the Gers. Lundstram brings experience and class to the middle of the park, which has led to him featuring as a regular starter under Clement.
Borna Barisic is another player firmly around the starting XI who will be leaving next year as it stands.
The full-back is the first choice for both his club and country. Like Lundstram, the 31-year-old is heavily experienced and brings an aura of calmness to the Rangers backline
Abdallah Sima has a total of five goals in 12 games in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The Senegalese forward is proving to be a vital player, with him currently sitting second in the club’s top-scoring charts

Rangers announced the signing of Scotland international goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin back in 2020, with the then 32-year-old joining on a two-year-deal after deciding to leave Sunderland.
Now at 34, his spot in Glasgow is no longer certain. He is also part of the group of players presumed to leave come June.
Whether this comes to fruition remains to be seen, but with Jack Butland at the club already – it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him go.

Finally, Leon Balogun is also set to leave the Gers for the second time in June 2024.
Rangers welcomed Balogun back this summer, with the central defender signing a one-year deal with the club.
The veteran centre-half has only featured three times this season. At 35, he is getting on a bit. Let’s see if he’s in Clement’s plans for next season
