Return moves: Rangers winger Set return update emerges due to hamstring injury…..

Rangers B Team manager David McCallum has issued an update on Zak Lovelace who’s currently out with a hamstring injury.

The 17-year-old is unlikely to return before January after he sustained a serious injury in October against St Mirren.

B Team defender Jack Harkness is also not expected to be back before the new year, doubling the injury woes for McCallum’s side.

He said, “Zak Lovelace and Jack Harkness are out due to injury and it will look like they will hopefully return around January time but we work closely with them to get them back.”

At 17, Lovelace is already an incredible talent and has already played first-team games for Rangers

The fans naturally gravitate to a player like that in their academy and if he keeps improving as he has over the past few months, he could be a first-team regular in a few seasons.

Rangers will also be aware that if he does keep improving, there are going to be teams in the Premier League that want to sign him

That’s been the case with many a youngster and it’s on the club to see what kind of fee they can negotiate for the talent.

Ideally, they should tie him down to a four or five year deal now just in case there is interest in him further down the line.

As of now, fans will hope he returns soon as Philippe Clement could be the ideal manager to take his game to the next level.
