Great News: Tottenham now favourites to sign £52m player who is already called ‘extraordinary’…..

Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the way to re-sign Marcus Edwards – a player who Pedro Porro has already labelled ‘extraordinary’.

That’s according to Correio de Manha, with the outlet claiming the forward’s return to form for Sporting CP has revived interest from Premier League sides.

Marcus Edwards left Spurs back in 2019 and has made quite the impact in Portugal. The 24-year-old initially impressed for Vitoria Guimaraes before sealing a move to Sporting back in 2022.

He put in some exceptional displays in the Champions League last season where he also netted against his former side Spurs.

Tottenham have reportedly scouted their academy product in recent months but are yet to make a move to re-sign him.

The Englishman endured a slow start to the current campaign as he failed to register a single goal involvement in his opening four league games. But he’s netted twice and provided three assists in his last five league appearances and it seems his form has revived interest from Tottenham.

Correio de Manha claims that Edwards is once again receiving interest from English sides.

It’s noted that Tottenham and Chelsea are the current favourites to land the talented winger.

Edwards was ultimately allowed to leave Spurs a few years back due to concerns over his application in training.
