Contract Deal: Philippe Clement has winger free agent option for Rangers after contract fall out…..

Philippe Clement has kept his cards very close to his chest since joining Rangers, wanting to neither praise nor criticise any individuals in his squad.

For the big Belgian, it is all about the team, about the collective and that the component parts have to all play their role towards a successful outcome.

Looking for quality players at this time of year is never easy, however, Philippe Clement could sign a free agent for Rangers who has experience in Ligue 1, the Eredivisie, the Premier League and in international football for the Netherlands.

Since Steven Gerrard arrived and signed Ryan Kent, the problem right wing position is one that nobody, other than Ianis Hagi and Joe Aribo, have been able to consistently contribute from.

Multiple players have come and gone but is clearly a position that the new manager will want to strengthen given that the only current options are Scott Wright and Ross McCausland.

Todd Cantwell has been utilised there too and it may be that there are occasions when he has to play in a similar way to Aribo and Hagi, cutting inside to create more space for James Tavernier on the outside and to overload in a more central area.

One alternative is for Philippe Clement to add to his Rangers squad by dipping his toes into the free agent market.
