Tottenham In Disarray Amid Star Player’s Injury

Son Heung-min has been dealing with an ailment for the past few weeks that he may have aggravated while serving his country abroad, according to Tottenham reports.

Spurs supporters were given a serious injury scare by Son Heung-min during South Korea’s international friendly match against Vietnam. Ange Postecoglou benefited from Jurgen Klinsmann’s decision to rest the Spurs captain against Tunisia in the friendly, but he was still selected for the starting lineup on Tuesday.

Son has been struggling with a groin ailment for some time despite his stellar start to the season, and Postecoglou revealed the extent Spurs have to go to in order for him to be ready every weekend. “Look, he wasn’t 100 percent, but I had a chat with him yesterday and he was desperate to play,” Postecoglou said following the 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

He promised to provide all he could, and he did. He was never going to play the full 90 minutes; we were only ever going to give him an hour or so. However, he once again took the initiative and was the one pressing. He also scored, therefore the captain did a terrific job.

Despite concerns about a knock, Son left for international service, especially since both of South Korea’s matches were friendly.
Son was not used as a substitute in the 4-0 victory over Tunisia before playing the whole 90 minutes against Vietnam despite a near-injury during the match. Son was photographed limping to the tunnel at halftime with his country leading 2-0, raising serious questions about whether he had sustained a muscular injury.

He came back out for the decisive 6-0 victory, scoring in the process, which at least temporarily allayed their concerns. Nevertheless, given that Son has been questionable for an injury for the past few weeks, seeing him plainly in pain is not a sight anybody connected to Spurs will want to see.
