Transfer Latest: Super player transfer hint could see Rangers land clause bonus…

The on/off transfer saga of the summer was the one that saw Malik Tillman moving to Rangers one minute and then staying at Bayern Munich the next.

One of the points of debate, and confusion, was the option to buy clause and whether or not it could be negotiated and whether or not Michael Beale just needed to give the go ahead for the USA international to join he squad permanently.

Nobody could have foreseen what transpired and various “in the know” sources were left red faced when it emerged that Malik Tillman had his projected move to Rangers cancelled by Bayern Munich.

According to the previous Gers gaffer, the deal was all agreed and the money was there to add the 21-year old to the squad after impressing last season.

The young player of the year was one of the few highlights of the season and it was only a shame that is time at Ibrox ended prematurely because of injury.

You would have to think that if Rangers had signed Malik Tillman for the agreed fee of £5.8m, that Sam Lammers wouldn’t have been targeted to add depth at number 10.

Beale may have missed out, however, Tillman did return to Ibrox but with PSV Eindhoven, the reason for his return to Glasgow being clear when a £13m option to buy clause was revealed.

Now though, he has suggested that a long-term stay in the Eredivisie could be on the cards which has its own benefit for Rangers:

“I have really enjoyed my time at PSV from day one.

“It was the right move for me after Rangers. The manager, the team and the attacking style of play suit me.

“We also play in the Champions League and that was a very important condition for me.
