News Report: Suns Reportedly Will Have New Signing vs Mavericks

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns are expecting to have Thaddeus Young available for Thursday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, according to The Arizona Republic’s Duane Rankin.

“Phoenix Suns are expected to sign Thaddeus Young as early as Tuesday as the veteran forward will be with the team for Thursday’s game in Dallas against the Mavericks coming out of the NBA All-Star break,” said Rankin in his report.

The Suns reportedly were ironing out details of Young’s signing last week but the team hasn’t announced anything official. Phoenix head coach Frank Vogel was asked about Young multiple times in press conferences but was unable to comment since Young hadn’t officially joined the team.

Phoenix targeted wing help at the NBA trade deadlined and landed Brooklyn Nets forward Royce O’Neale. With Young’s eventual arrival, the Suns should have plenty of depth for their upcoming postseason run.

Young was traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets at the deadline but was soon waived after. This season, Young is averaging 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per night.

Phoenix is on the road Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks before playing again on Friday against the Houston Rockets.
