Phoenix Suns shooting guard Bradley Beal has been sidelined since Nov. 10 with what the team called a “lower back strain,” an injury described as nerve irritation due to a disc problem in his back , according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic.Beal has used the last few weeks to rehabilitate and stabilize his back.

The All-Star plans to play the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 12.Beal has only played three games this season. He is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 39.1% from the floor, 33.3% from beyond the arc and 68.8% from the foul line. The Suns are 1-2 with Beal in the lineup and 12-10 overall this season. The Warriors game will be the first time Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant will be on the court together at the same time.The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards last offseason as part of a massive trade between Chris Paul and Landry Shamet. Beal is making $46.7 million this season. The veteran signed a five-year, $251 million contract with the Wizards in June 2022. “It’s very difficult to have our ‘Big 3’ early in the season,” Beal wrote in a journal post for Andscape. “Everyone has their own expectations of what we can be, and we have ours too. We all take pride in taking care of our bodies and being available. Devin and I haven’t even gotten to the happy ending yet.Beal has career NBA averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists with the Wizards and Suns. He made three All-Star teams and one All-NBA team.
