Ruben Neves, the Al-Hilal midfielder, has been linked with a return to Newcastle United, barely months after leaving the Premier League to transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Neves joined Al-Hilal for £47 million in the summer, but he could be set for a surprise return to England.
Newcastle United have been linked with a deal for the Portuguese international as a possible replacement for Sandro Tonali, who is serving a lengthy suspension. The Telegraph reports that a rumored deal for Neves may see the former Wolves man join the Magpies on an initial loan arrangement to cover for Tonali’s absence.
Any deal for Neves, however, would almost certainly be scrutinized because Al-Hilal and Newcastle United share the same owners. Alternatives to Neves might include Kalvin Phillips, who has recently been widely linked with a move to St James’ Park, as well as Scott McTominay.
