Manchester United are getting a harsh taste of what could have been if this player had gotten his dream signings.

Manchester United were offered a sobering sight of what they could have won when England defeated Italy, as if Jim Bowen were exhibiting a speed boat.

Gareth Southgate’s side qualified for Euro 2024 with a resounding 3-1 victory at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday night. Half of England’s victories over Italy have come in 2023, and the confidence with which they came from behind against a strong side should provide confidence ahead of next summer’s championship in Germany.

Especially given the abundance of attacking alternatives available to England. There are still limitations in the center of defense and defensive midfield due to the ongoing call-ups of Kalvin Phillips and Jordan Henderson, but there may not be a more well-stocked arsenal in international football moving forward.

To demonstrate how deep the reserves go, just look at the bench: Jack Grealish, James Maddison, Jarrod Bowen, Ollie Watkins; Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Eberechi Eze, Cole Palmer, and Ivan Toney weren’t even in the squad.
