Liverpool will play Luton Town at Kenilworth Road this afternoon to resume Premier League action.
The two teams are separated by a massive 18 points in the standings, and the Reds are coming into the match fresh off a 2-1 Carabao Cup triumph against Bournemouth on Wednesday. Conversely, Luton suffered a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa in their most recent match.
Speaking on Friday morning, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed Luis Diaz will decide whether or not he is ready to play this afternoon. The forward returned to training on Wednesday amid fears for his father’s safety after he was seized at gunpoint by members of the Ejército de Liberación Nacional (ELN) last weekend. His mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was also kidnapped but later released.
The Reds boss also revealed that neither Thiago Alcantara nor Stefan Bajcetic are back in training after long injuries. Thiago has yet to feature so far this season as he continues his recovery from a hip issue that required surgery in the summer, but Klopp is hopeful he will return in the New Year.
Curtis Jones was seemingly not pictured in training images released by the club on Friday, but it remains to be seen what the situation is with him. So with the latest Liverpool team news in mind, we have taken a look at the full squad available to Klopp for this afternoon’s game
