Leeds United player pleads guilty to driving offense

Ian Poveda has been sentenced in court after the Leeds United midfielder pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in April 2022, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported on its website on Monday (9 October) that the 23-year-old was handed a six-month driving ban and a community order for 140 hours of unpaid work as well as being ordered to pay a victim surcharge and court costs.

However, the Whites midfielder avoided a fine before Manchester City Magistrates Court on Friday (October 6) for an offence committed while on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

It won’t have come as too much of a surprise to Poveda to have been hit with a six-month driving ban after he pleaded guilty to the offence last month.
He made the serious error in judgement while he was out injured with a fracture and ligament damage on his left ankle during his loan spell with Blackburn.
