The Kieran McKenna-led Tractor Boys have enjoyed a revival since their promotion from League One last season. They are on course to repeat that and have opened up a ten-point lead in second place ahead of Saturday’s match against nearest rivals Leeds United.
The match at Elland Roa will be just as important for both sides and so Ampadu is aware of the excitement that awaits him in the build-up to Saturday. However, the former Chelsea star is clear that he and his teammates will only focus on themselves and try to prepare mentally and physically.“We all know how noisy the match environment will be,” Ampadu told BBC Radio Leeds. “I’ll probably say we’ll take it like we do every game. “We will focus on ourselves and obviously we know what they are good at. They showed what they can be good at. “We know what we can do to win the game. “So this week we will make sure we prepare, prepare ourselves mentally and physically for the game.” A win on Saturday would help Leeds United close the gap to seven points exactly halfway through the season.
