There have been plenty of ups and downs in the Denver Broncos system in recent weeks.
Russell Wilson could leave the team because of the decision to replace Sean Payton. Jarrett Stidham was the team’s first option at quarterback. Now it looks like the veteran offensive engine is facing more competition. Ben Di Nucci is expected to sign a futures contract with the team. He announced his intentions in a recent statement, via Chris Thomasson of the Denver Post. “I’m excited to come back on Monday morning and look to sign a futures contract for next year. I think any time you can be consistent as a quarterback, that’s a good thing. A second year with Sean, Davis and Joe will be good for me.” Ben DiNucci said.Sean Payton appears to be preparing for Russell Wilson’s departure with this move. After being benched for Jarrett Stidham, the Broncos veteran showed plenty of frustration. If Wilson leaves, they’ll need a backup offensive engine, and DiNucci Payton seems willing to help. He even placed a wreath on the heads of the Broncos. “Sean did a really good job with a quarterback unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Each iteration is preceded by something. I’m either thinking about it or I’m keeping this in my back pocket. He’s been doing this for a while and his experience speaks for itself.”
