No Mo… Browns lose another lineman Tuesday…..

The Cleveland Browns season has been defined by injuries and overcoming those injuries on the way to an 8-5 season. At some point, logically, those injuries should add to losses and poor play. That is what has happened around the NFL but not for the Browns.

Yesterday, Dawand Jones joined Jack Conklin, the man he replaced, with a season-ending injury. Today, Jedrick Wills joined the two of them as Cleveland’s top three tackles are out for the season.

When the Browns signed DE Sam Kamara we had some confusion as to that decision given other injuries and QB Joe Flacco needing a roster spot soon.

Now, we have the answer as DT Maurice Hurst joins the litany of players out for the year with a pectoral injury. Hurst addressed the injury on social media after the team made the announcement:

A lightly sought-after free agent, Hurst has been a key component to Cleveland’s defense with his quick first step and great hands. As is true with most interior defensive linemen, his stats (22 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 5 QB hits, 1.5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 fumble recovery) don’t do his impact justice.

Kamara may step in to help in Hurst’s role as a pass rusher while rookie Siaki Ika might also be active. While Ika is also a defensive tackle, his game is not similar to Hurst’s.
