Celtics Receive Brutal Jrue Holiday Injury Update vs. Magic

The Boston Celtics will be without Jrue Holiday today against the Orlando Magic.

Holiday is dealing with a right ankle injury.

Holiday has appeared in 15 games for the Celtics this season. He’s averaging 12.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.6 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 42.0% from the field, 33.8% from beyond the arc and 79.2% from the free-throw line.

The Celtics have the best record in the NBA at 12-3. They have been starting Holiday, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis. Head coach Joe Mazzulla could start White, Tatum, Brown, Porzingis and Al Horford against the Magic with Holiday out.

Boston is coming off a massive home win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Holiday didn’t play well offensively, finishing with only five points on 1-of-8 shooting from the field. However, the NBA champion still played a crucial role, as he spent the game guarding Giannis Antetokounmpo, who shot just 7-of-20 overall.

Holiday is one of the best defenders in the NBA. Fortunately for the Celtics, they still have White in the lineup.

The Magic enter the Celtics game on a five-game winning streak. They are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. It will be interesting to see who wins between Boston and Orlando.

“I haven’t seen that in a long time,” Bucks forward Khris Middleton said. “But you know, that’s what he does. He’s all over the place guarding different matchups, matchups you didn’t think he would guard or should guard. But that’s how talented that guy is.”
