Breaking: Most valuable signs with Baltimore Ravens ahead of playoffs…

The Jets bounced back earlier this week and now have a chance to add to Baltimore’s playoff push.

Earlier this week, the New York Jets released Dalvin Cook in favor of signing a veteran playoff contender. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cook agreed to a deal to join the Baltimore Ravens, now the best team in football, after being cleared from waivers. After Cook was cut by the Jets, many pointed to the Ravens as a possibility. The Ravens have J.K. Dobbins and Keaton Mitchell are dealing with season-ending injuries. Coach Gus Edwards and cornerback Dusty Hill have played well, but Baltimore prefers a back three and neither player is a true playmaker. Cook, meanwhile, has impressive credentials. Just 28 years old, he was waived by the Vikings and signed by the Jets in the offseason after making four straight Pro Bowls and passing for 1,000 yards in four straight seasons before the 2022 campaign. But he disappointed with just 67,214 yards and no touchdowns in the Big Apple. But New York hasn’t been able to capitalize on all of Cook’s strengths. Not only is he capable between the tackles, but his blocking and pass-rushing skills allow Cook to make plays on third down. Playing in Baltimore will be different than playing for the Jets. The Ravens have an elite quarterback, a great offensive line and an innovative running game in offensive coordinator Todd Monken. It’s still fresh, as Edwards and Hill still make an impact in the rushing attack.Perhaps most importantly, the Ravens have a first-round bye, giving Cook two and a half weeks to fully familiarize himself with the playbook.
