When the Jacksonville Jaguars signed another quarterback to their active roster, which could mean quarterback Trevor Lawrence won’t play in Week 14, it seemed like the biggest news came on Saturday.
While it was big news, it wasn’t the only big news as the Cleveland Browns themselves were in action. In a round of official news, the Browns roster saw QB Joe Flacco elevated from the practice squad, CB Cameron Mitchell activated from injured reserve and QB PJ Walker dropped from the roster. The team also announced that OL Dawand Jones had been demoted for Sunday.Jones was doubtful because of a knee issue that kept him out of practice Friday. The biggest news might be about WR Amari Cooper:Flacco’s rise is no surprise as it will likely begin this week. Cleveland can elevate him one more time before having to sign him to the active roster in order for him to play. Walker’s spot on the active roster was going to be eliminated next week to make room for Flacco, but Mitchell’s return, and possibly Jones’ injury, accelerated that by a week.Walker will likely return to the practice squad for Week 15.
