On Tuesday, cornerback Rasul Douglas was a member of the Packers. The NFL trade deadline came and went, though, and Green Bay attached a fifth-round draft pick to Douglas and sent him to the Bills for a third-round pick. It was little more than a routine transaction, but on Wednesday Buffalo used it for some post-practice comedic fodder. When the Bills tweeted out their injury report, Douglas appeared on it, despite the fact he’s started every Packers game this season. The reason given wasn’t any injury, but the fact that Douglas “just got here.” Adding to the report’s humor was the fact that Buffalo did nothing to call attention to it, simply sticking Douglas between quarterback Josh Allen and cornerback Kaiir Elam.
Douglas, in his seventh year as a pro out of West Virginia, spent three seasons with Green Bay before being traded. His 15 career interceptions are tied for 27th among active players.
The Bills, with or without Douglas, are scheduled to meet the Bengals on Sunday Night Football in their first game since the deadline. ABG-SI LLC.
