Luka Vušković will join Tottenham Hotspur in 2025 after the Premier League team and Hajduk Split signed a deal last month.
Hajduk parted ways with Ivan Leko two days ago and selected Mislav Karoglan as their new manager. Tuesday saw Karoglan introduced to the media, escorted by Lukša Jakobušić, the club president.
Leko has passed over the 16-year-old in the past two months despite his 11 first team appearances.
Jakobušić, whose words are attributed to 24 Sata, has claimed that he is no longer concerned about the defender’s condition after he reached an agreement with Tottenham.
I don’t have a question about that. That tale with him is finished in my opinion; he remains until January, competes, and trains with the first squad. He stated, “It is not required of him to play when he is not competing for the seniors; I agree with the sports director and coach. He plays for the juniors.”
Tottenham must find the Croatia U17 international housing at another club until he reaches 18 because of Brexit, which prevents them from bringing the player to England before then.
The center back will remain with the Croatian team till the end of the current campaign; prior rumors suggested that if Hajduk and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could reach an agreement, the player’s stay may be prolonged.
To obtain more experience, the Croatia U17 international would be better served by going out on loan to a higher division, according to the president of Hajduk.
“It is crucial that he stays until January. After that, we will decide with Tottenham where he will go on loan. The goal is to get [Dominik] Prpić back from his loan at Radomlje, but first he needs to go to a stronger league because of his visa.” According to Jakobušić, there are no limitations for the trainer.
