Before Wayne Gretzky became the most iconic name in hockey, he was already obliterating records as a kid. At just 10 years old, he scored a mind-blowing 378 goals in one season playing youth hockey in Brantford, Ontario.
That’s not a typo—378 goals in one season.
Gretzky’s preteen dominance was so extreme, other parents complained. He was regularly double- and triple-teamed, but still scored at will. His hockey IQ, puck control, and vision were lightyears ahead of his peers.
Of course, that early promise translated into the greatest NHL career ever. With 894 goals and 2,857 points, Gretzky holds records that are widely considered unbreakable. He won four Stanley Cups, nine Hart Trophies (MVP), and rewrote the NHL record books in nearly every category.
And it all started with that jaw-dropping 10-year-old season.
