West Ham has been struck by more sorrowful news just before their Premier League clash with Brighton, adding to what has already been a tough couple of weeks.
Only 11 days ago, the club was left anxiously awaiting news about striker Michail Antonio after images of his wrecked Ferrari surfaced, leading them to fear the worst. Fortunately, Antonio survived a horrific car crash, although he sustained a broken thigh bone, which could potentially end his career.
Just days later, on Friday evening, the club received the heartbreaking announcement that young Academy star Oscar Fairs had passed away.
Oscar, an under-15 goalkeeper, had been battling a rare form of brain cancer. A devoted West Ham supporter since the age of six, he had always dreamed of playing for the first team. Sadly, he lost his fight with the illness.
