Transfer Report: Dallas Cowboys sign former Alabama linebacker to 53-man roster….

A former first-round selection from the University of Alabama has made a 53-man roster for a National Football League team.

Rashaan Evans, a former two-time College Football Playoff National Champion, is with the Dallas Cowboys. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the news on Saturday about Evans getting signed to the roster off the practice squad. Evans, 28, has bounced from the Atlanta Falcons (2022) to the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad (2023) before landing a chance with the Cowboys.

The Tennessee Titans picked him at No. 22 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he played four full seasons as a linebacker.

Evans, a former five-star recruit from Auburn High School, played for the Crimson Tide from 2014 to 2017 — earning first-team All-American honors in 2017. He also earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2017, helping Alabama to three SEC Championships (2014-16). Evans shared the team lead for total tackles (74) in 2017 and had 13 stops for loss (team-high), six sacks, seven quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
