Ferguson was a Rangers player at one point before moving on to continue his development and ending up with Bologna in the bright lights of Serie A.
There was always a good player there but few would have expected the 24-year old to be skippering a team in one of the biggest leagues in the world.
After a stunning debut season where he displayed his goalscoring prowess, Lewis Ferguson has continued where he left off for Bologna with a personal accolade to be proud of with a place in Whoscored.com’s team of the month.

Lewis Ferguson rubs Rangers nose in it again with Serie A accolade
Named by Whoscored.com in Serie A’s team of the month, the Scotland international is displaying the sort of consistency that has seen him linked with moves to Napoli and AC Milan.
There will be someone within the halls of Auchenhowie – if they are still there – kicking themselves over the decision to release 14-year old Lewis Ferguson but Bologna won’t be complaining.
They stand to make a significant profit from their reported £3m investment and can’t possibly have thought they would be getting quite as good a player as they have.
