Injury Update: New York Yankees announce news on star outfielder’s injury

New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman provided an update on the health of star outfielder Aaron Judge on Thursday, saying his toe injury is “healed.”After trading for superstar outfielder Juan Soto on Wednesday, the New York Yankees continued to deliver good news to fans on Thursday. While this has always been a hope and expectation during the offseason, it’s always good to hear.Judge missed nearly two months of action in 2023 after injuring his toe in a collision with the wall at Dodger Stadium. He tore a ligament in his big toe. The Yankees finished fourth in the American League East and missed the playoffs entirely a year after entering the ALCS. While the acquisition of Soto is obviously incredibly exciting for the organization, Judge’s health and performance are still key factors in the team’s success. One of the best players in all of sports, Judge is a five-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger, Rookie of the Year winner and MVP winner. Even with the injury, he hit .267 with 37 home runs in 2023. He IS the anchor of the team’s lineup and one of the most feared hitters in the league. With the acquisition of Soto, Judge is expected to return to midfield, while Soto and Alex Verdugo will join him. In addition to acquiring Soto and Verdugo and making trades, the Yankees are active on the free agent market. They continue to invest heavily in finding the best pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
