The final injury report for the Phoenix Suns has been released ahead of tonight’s 6 p.m. MST tip-off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Devin Booker will miss his fifth straight game tonight due to a right calf injury. After missing the first seven games due to low back spasms, Bradley Beal will be available for the third straight game. Eric Gordon will miss his Suns debut due to pain in his left shoulder.
Gordon and Booker were the major question marks that were about to arrive. On yesterday’s injury report, Gordon was added as questionable while Booker was marked as doubtful.
Gordon reportedly “woke up with significant soreness after last game,” according to Suns coach Frank Vogel. He continued by saying that they evaluated the issue and are hopeful it’s not a major one.
Vogel said yesterday that Booker’s doing some light shooting and did some of the team drill work today, so he’s “getting closer.”
Booker was never listed as anything other than out before last night’s game against the Lakers, so even him being doubtful yesterday is an upgrade from that designation, pointing that things are beginning to turn in the right direction for him.
Beal and Kevin Durant can’t wait until their co-star returns.
Now, the Suns will miss two of their best ball handlers
Gordon had reverted back to his role off the bench with the return of Bradley Beal. He played really well last night in Friday’s loss to the Lakers after struggling mightily on Wednesday against the Bulls.
Against the Lakers, Gordon had 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from deep and 5-of-9 shooting overall, while also having active hands defensively and garnering three steals.
