Ibrox Reviewed: Rangers set for cash injunction soon as £12m transfer dismissal Emerge…..

Philippe Clement couldn’t have got off to a much better start at Rangers, with the Belgian remaining unbeaten in Glasgow after his first month in charge.

The Light Blues are still in the race for the title, have booked their place in the Viaplay Cup final and look set to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League, but already attentions are turning to the January transfer window.

Rangers spent heavily under the management of Michael Beale this summer and are unlikely to do the same when the window opens once again, but the Ibrox club could be set for a financial boost as one of their former stars seems likely to be making a permanent switch in the near future.

It appears as though Malik Tillman could be set to make his loan switch to PSV permanent after an impressive start to the season on loan with Dutch club, with the American forward very happy to make the move to the Netherlands.

As quoted by the Daily Record (23 November) he said: “I want to develop further in Eindhoven and who knows what will be possible next. I don’t know what will happen – that depends on PSV and Bayern.

“But if PSV activates the purchase option, I don’t think I have much to complain about. Then I would be playing at a high level at PSV, I want to get better and ultimately take a step up again.”

PSV have the chance to make the deal permanent for £12million, with the agreement between Rangers and Bayern Munich seeing Clement’s side earn an initial £1 million, plus 10 per cent of any future fee that the 21-year-old earns the German giants in the future.

That would mean that if this sale goes through in January, the Light Blues would pocket a healthy £1.2 million on top of the £1 million earned during the summer transfer window.

While in the modern footballing landscape that is not exactly a huge transfer fee, it could offer a welcome boost to the transfer pot at Ibrox as Clement prepares for his first window in charge in Glasgow as he looks to add to his squad.

The Belgian likes to operate with wingers in his side, but the options currently at Ibrox are incredibly limited, with Rabbi Matondo, Scott Wright and Ross McCausland the only conventional wide-men in Clement’s ranks.
