The Yankees have a new No. 1 prospect in the MLB Pipeline rankings.It’s been so long. Jason Dominguez is back in the lead after being overtaken by fellow midfielder Spencer Jones at the end of last season.

MLB Pipeline released its new top 100 prospects Friday night, and the Yankees came in fourth, up one spot from last season.

Dominguez is the Yankees’ 41st in the 2023 top 100, moving from 47th to 6th.Jones ranks 84th, shortstop Roderick Arias is 86th and pitcher Chase Hampton is 92nd. Orioles shortstop Jackson Holiday was first, followed by Brewers shortstop Jackson Chulio, Pirates Paul Skenes, Rays/third baseman Junior Carminero and Rangers, Evan Carter.

The rest of the top 10 included the Rangers’ Wyatt Langford at No. 6, the Nationals’ Dylan Crews at No. 7, the Padres’ Ethan Salz at No. 8, White Sox shortstop Colson Montgomery at No. 9 and the Twins. Walker Jenkins in 10th place.Drew Thorpe, the pitcher the Yankees traded to the Padres in the Juan Soto trade last month, is 85th.

In last season’s Top 100, No. 1 Gunnar Henderson won AL Player of the Year as the Orioles’ third baseman and shortstop, while No. 2 Corbin Carroll was named NL Player of the Year as the Orioles’ outfielder. Dominguez, 20, spent most of last season in Double-A but made his big league debut in September.
