BREAKING NEWS: Texas A&M four-star tight end De-commit from team to join rival side

Texas A&M’s four-star tight end commit, Caleb Tafua, recently attended USC’s Junior Day on February 1, 2025. Despite his commitment to the Aggies, Tafua’s visit to USC underscores the dynamic nature of college football recruiting.

Tafua, a standout from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California, committed to Texas A&M on December 21, 2024, choosing the Aggies over programs like Cal-Berkeley, USC, and Washington. His decision followed an official visit to Texas A&M during the high-profile matchup against the Texas Longhorns on November 30, 2024. Reflecting on that experience, Tafua remarked, “It felt like that was where I needed to be.”

USC’s Junior Day attracted numerous top-tier prospects, including Tafua. His participation indicates that the Trojans are still actively pursuing him, aiming to bolster their 2026 recruiting class.

Tafua’s visit to USC highlights the fluidity of college football recruiting, where committed players often explore other programs. As the recruiting cycle progresses, it will be interesting to see if USC’s efforts influence Tafua’s commitment to Texas A&M.
