Manchester City could be without a number of injured players for their Premier League clash with Liverpool next weekend

Manchester City could be without first-choice goalkeeper Ederson for the Premier League clash against Liverpool later this month.

Pep Guardiola’s treble winners host Liverpool in East Manchester on November 25, with the Reds trailing City by just a single point in the Premier League table after 12 games.

Ederson had played in Manchester City’s pulsating 4-4 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday but now faces a race against time to be fit to face Liverpool after officially withdrawing from Brazil’s squad with a foot injury. His potential absence is the latest in a long line for manager Pep Guardiola.

The Cityzens will already be without the talismanic figure that is Kevin de Bruyne, the Belgian is currently sidelined with a recurrence of the hamstring injury he suffered in last season’s Champions League final victory over Inter Milan.

John Stones, a former defender who switched to midfield, will also be out for Manchester City on November 25 due to a muscle injury he sustained during the team’s 3-0 Champions League triumph over Young Boys last week. Although manager Pep Guardiola allayed concerns that Stones may miss a significant amount of time due to injury, he acknowledged he had no idea if the England international would be ready for Liverpool’s visit to the Etihad the following weekend.
