Breaking News: Jack Butland urge to reject Rangers transfer exit advances despite English interest…..

There’s not many of Rangers summer signings who can hold their head up high and say their performances didn’t drop during the disappointing final weeks of Michael Beale’s time as manager, but Jack Butland is one of those.

The goalkeeper signed under freedom of contract after leaving Crystal Palace and he’d spent the last six months sitting on the bench at Manchester United as cover for David de Gea. Andy Firth knows what it’s like to be sitting in reserve and trying your best to keep those in front of you on their toes and the former Liverpool youngster had been a bit of a cult hero at Ibrox for how much he fell in love with the club.

He still keeps a close eye on them despite leaving to join Connah’s Quay Nomads 18 months ago and he’s back playing regular football there but his love for Rangers is clear with regular social media posts supporting the club. And he hopes Butland has been bitten by the Rangers bug too and will dismiss any offers of a quick return to England in January.

“Those European nights are special and I definitely think that will play a big part in his mind if anything does come calling, because you don’t get that anywhere else. I was lucky enough to sample some of those big nights on the way to Seville. I was only sitting in the stands but I was jumping around like an idiot.

“Hopefully the team can get that result against Limassol next week to secure European football after Christmas and that’s enough to convince Jack his future is still in Glasgow
